Construction

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Calgary has been using an old church as Mosque, which was located 90 Mission Road SW , since 1988. That building was sold in 2006.

In 2001 , the community purchased 3.86 acres in Northeast Calgary where Baitun Nur Mosque is now being built. Foundation Stone was laid by Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (a.a.) on June 18, 2005. A special brick, which was brought from Qadian in India , was used in the foundation. The construction of the Mosque started on July 28, 2006.

The Mosque Complex is constructed in Calgary 's North East because the majority of Ahmadis live in that area. It will provide the fast growing Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Calgary with a central focal point for congregational prayers, spiritual training and a dedicated location for social & religious events on a larger scale. The Islamic Center will include classrooms, an Islamic reference library, offices, a gymnasium.
